Kathy Schniedwind

Kathy Schniedwind is a national speaker for Drug Free Sport. She speaks to groups of student-athletes, coaches and athletics administrators on a variety of topics.
Schniedwind is a Certified Athletic Trainer with more than 30 years of Division I collegiate experience at Illinois State University, including 16 years as the Head Athletic Trainer. Schniedwind is a member of the Illinois and National Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame and has served on many committees within the National Athletic Trainers’ Association including the NATA Research and Education Foundation Board of Directors. She is a past chair of the NATA College and University Athletic Training Student Committee.
Schniedwind has been very involved with the United States Olympic Committee and was chosen as one of the athletic trainers for the United States for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea. Schniedwind is a former member of the NCAA Competitive Safeguards Committee and served on the Drug Education and Testing subcommittee. She is currently teaching in the athletic training curriculum at Illinois State University.
Schniedwind received her bachelor's degree in health and physical education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania and her master's degree in physical education, with emphasis in athletic training, from Indiana University. While at West Chester, she was a student-athlete participating in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse.
