THREE (3) CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS:

 

POSITION:  Staff Accountant

COMPANY DESCRIPTION: 

The National Center for Drug Free Sport, Inc. (Drug Free Sport), located in Kansas City, Missouri, is the premier provider of drug-testing services in sport, both nationally and internationally.  Drug Free Sport is a client-centered company of highly trained and educated professionals dedicated to ensuring fair, ethical and safe competition in sport. 

BASIC FUNCTION: 

The Staff Accountant is responsible for interacting with internal staff and external clients and vendors to provide information and supporting documentation, and for ensuring that costs are recorded to departments accurately and timely via Accounts Payable (A/P), Cost, and Expense Report processing.  Responsible for accurate and timely payments to vendors and to employees, and for ensuring that company policies and procedures are followed in performing their duties and are adhered to by others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll

1.      Maintain records of employee PTO and input PTO data into payroll database.

2.      Additional payroll responsibilities after six months employment.

Accounts Receivable

1.      Maintain accurate records of customers.

2.      Generate customer invoices based on policies of each operational department.

3.      Generate customer statements on the last day of each month and submit to department directors for approval.

4.      Issue accounts receivable report to president, COO and vice presidents on the last day of each month.

5.      Contact customers with balances beyond 60 days and record status in QuickBooks.

6.      Assist customers and Drug Free Sport employees with billing questions.

Accounts Payable

1.      Maintain accurate records of vendors.

2.      Process staff-travel reimbursement forms.

3.      Circulate monthly credit card statements for review.

4.      Accept vendor invoices, circulate for approval and pay according to vendor agreements.

5.      Pay collection vendors by the last day of each month using ACH protocols.

Reports

  • Issue departmental Profit and Loss and Budget Reports monthly.

Other

1.      Maintain financial records according to Records Retention Policy.

2.      Assist president and outside auditors with annual audit.  Provide documentation when requested.

3.      Assist president, COO and vice presidents with annual budget creation.

4.      Maintain a positive working relationship and open communication with Drug Free Sport employees and independent contractors.

5.      Provide assistance to Drug Free Sport staff on special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field.
  • 1-3 years of applicable experience, preferably within a small business. 
  • A working knowledge of amateur and professional sport. 
  • Excellent communication (written/oral/listening) skills.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for excellence, extremely detail oriented with focus on time management and prioritizing tasks.
  • Working and operational knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel, and QuickBooks or similar financial software solutions.

POSITION:  Information Technology Support Analyst.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

The National Center for Drug Free Sport, Inc. (Drug Free Sport) is the premier provider of drug-testing services in sport, both nationally and internationally.  Drug Free Sport is located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.  Drug Free Sport is the leader in information technology as it relates to sport drug-testing administration services.  Drug Free Sport envisioned and developed a proprietary mobile drug-testing data collection and management system called Secure Collection Automated Network (SCAN®), which is currently deployed on an iOS infrastructure. Drug Free Sport utilizes a large network of independent contractors that provide specimen collection services for a diverse client base, and works with national and international world- class laboratories for specimen analysis.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Drug Free Sport views this position as a long-term investment in technology for the organization. The Drug Free Sport Information Technology Support Analyst will operate in a fast-paced work environment that allows for creative problem solving skills and interaction with all levels of the organization.

The Drug Free Sport Information Technology Support Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day technical support of laptops and software for all on-site and remote Drug Free Sport staff members; test and manage deployment of client software including OS and Office 2010 upgrades & patches; take an active role in the testing, evaluation and implementation process of new cutting edge software for the business; and develop and deliver IT training materials to the Drug Free Sport staff to increase overall staff work productivity when possible.

This position will work directly with the Drug Free Sport Manager of Information Technology to provide a high level of IT support and direction for the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides day-to-day technical management and support to internal and external users including all infrastructure management including but not limited to:

  • Provide hardware and software support for all Drug Free Sport client laptops.
  • Evaluate, test and deploy all important/critical OS and Office 2010 software updates to client systems in a timely manner.
  • Setup and configure new employee laptop systems.
  • Backup data and prepare laptop systems for redeployment in the event an employee leaves the organization.
  • Have working knowledge of VPN architecture and the ability to troubleshoot end user connectivity issues.
  • Create and deliver effective IT support training materials for both internal and external users as needed.
  • Provide production support for proprietary SCAN3 software and equipment for DFS staff members and off-site collectors as needed.
  • Occasional on-call support for Drug Free Sport staff member IT-related issues, and Drug Free Sport collector iPad & SCAN3 application questions.
  • Able to establish and complete tasks in prescribed time period (meets deadlines).
  • Responsible for user management (i.e., Active Directory account setup, password resets, password changes, disabling accounts).
  • Perform duties such as pulling cable, terminating patch panels, troubleshooting network printers and connectivity, moving equipment, etc.
  • Respond efficiently and remove any reported virus or malware threats on DFS company laptops.
  • Assist in testing and validation of new DFS software products prior to deployment.
  • Provide varying levels of IT support as necessary and assist in special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two to five years current experience in the technology field.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up software and hardware troubleshooting issues to resolution with people skills across a broad range of customers.
  • Well-versed in desktop operating systems (Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7) and applications (Microsoft Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Contribute).
  • Ability to configure and support smartphones and other mobile devices (Windows, Android and iOS).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated interest in staying current with computer technology, including hardware, software, operating systems and the Internet.
  • Experience managing software patches and updates with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or similar patch management system.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, ability to present in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines.
  • Ability to operate in a self-directed environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • IT certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA are a plus.
  • Previous experience with SQL database management, Ubuntu Linux OS and Mac OSX is beneficial for this position.

POSITION: Sport Drug Testing Program Manager - Collection and Account Services.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Drug Free Sport is a client-centered company of highly trained and educated professionals dedicated to ensuring fair, ethical and safe competition in sport.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Program Manager for Collection and Account Services is responsible for coordinating testing events with collegiate sport drug-testing clients and collection contractors. This includes training all involved in the specimen collection process on the proper protocol and procedures of collegiate sport drug-testing collections. In addition, the program manager will ensure timely delivery of services including invoicing of drug testing and other support services to clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent service to Drug Free Sport clients. Maintain strong, positive working relationships and consistent communication with Drug Free Sport employees and collection contractors as part of a team-centered work environment.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of client drug-testing service needs.
  • Perform the following collection services for Drug Free Sport collegiate drug-testing clients:
  • Maintain client databases, document all communication, contact information and service tracking records.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of collections between collegiate drug-testing clients and collectors as needed.
  • Instruct clients and/or collectors to provide proposed collection schedules including test date, proposed number of samples and selected test panels.
  • Provide additional value added services as needed and coordinate completion of services in conjunction with other Sport Drug Testing Program Managers (e.g. random generation, drug-testing roster generation).
  • Verify standard operating procedure with collector for client collections.
  • Assist the Sport Drug Testing Program Manager for Result Management, the Director of Client Services, the Quality Assurance department, and the Collector Development department in addressing performance issues pertaining to collectors.
  • In combination with the Sport Drug Testing Program Manager for Result Management Services, monitor quality-of-service issues including but not limited to supplies, transportation, laboratory drug-testing results turnaround and address deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain archiving of department and client records in accordance with the Drug Free Sport record retention policy.
  • Perform the following accounting services for Drug Free Sport collegiate drug-testing clients:
  • Work with Director of Client Services and Director of Sport Drug Testing to maintain accounting database detailing client activity, drug-testing costs, and revenues by client.
  • Record invoicing information in designated databases for client records and generate documentation for the Accounting Department on a bimonthly basis.
  • Review monthly invoices from Clinical Reference Laboratory, UCLA Olympic Laboratory, and SMRTL Laboratory for collegiate drug-testing clients for accuracy. Notify the Director of Client Services of any discrepancies for follow-up.
  • Review monthly invoices from Drug Free Sport Collection Companies for collegiate drug-testing clients for accuracy. Notify the Director of Client Services of any discrepancies for follow-up.
  • Provide client feedback to Director of Sport Drug Testing to identify new value-added services and products to clients and prospective clients.
  • Maintain certified collector status for all clients serviced by program manager and provide specimen collections as needed.
  • Serve in the absence of the other Sport Drug Testing program managers when necessary.
  • Attend meetings, trade shows and other athletic events to promote Drug Free Sport services.
  • Provide assistance on special projects and other tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Hands-on work experience in an athletics, sports-medicine, or drug-testing environment.
  • Experience working with health-care providers and athletes, preferably in a collegiate setting.
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, and excellent time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal/listening) skills and demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience creating and managing complex Excel documents.
  • Program management skills with ability to manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Experience maintaining confidential records is critical.
  • Knowledge of standard office operations.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight trips.
  • Ability to work independently or in group environment.
  • Experience in MS Office 2010 (Highly Proficient in Excel), Windows 7 and higher, ACT!/CRM Software, Adobe Flash, mobile technologies, web and database applications.
