Drug Free Sport’s Cindy Thomas earns NATA Athletic Trainer Service Award
JUNE 20th, 2008 - The National Athletic Training Association (NATA) has chosen Cindy Thomas, Drug Free Sport’s Director of Collector Development and Certification, as a recipient of the Athletic Trainer Service Award, to be presented June 18 at the General Session of the NATA Annual Meeting in Saint Louis, Mo.
The Athletic Trainer Service Award recognizes NATA members for their contributions to the athletic training profession and the association. To qualify for the award, candidates must have at least fifteen years as a certified member of the NATA in good standing and be nominated by their peers.
In Thomas’ 27 years as a certified athletic trainer, she has completed multiple national NATA presentations in addition to numerous presentations to professional groups nationally and locally. She has volunteered to work on committees and task forces at the national NATA Level, served as an advisor to a Student Athletic Trainer Association and authored a chapter in an athletic training textbook.
Thomas’ focus for Drug Free Sport is development, training and certification for the company’s 400+ independent contractor specimen collectors across the country. In addition to Thomas, Michaela Stemmons and Robin Burton are also certified athletic trainers on staff at Drug Free Sport.
