NFL Drug Testing Program Manager

Position Focus:   The National Football League (NFL) Drug Testing Program Manager is a key contributor to Drug Free Sport’s purpose of ensuring fairness in sport and health and safety for athletes with a passion to provide high level of service and commitment to excellence for the management of the NFL Policy on Anabolic Steroids and Related Substances (PED) and Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse (SOA) programs.  The NFL Drug Testing Program Manager will operate in a fast-paced work environment, contribute with administration management, and effectively communicate with the client, independent contractors and colleagues to achieve any mission, any time, with zero fatal flaws.  Contributions include managing SOA and PED drug-testing and administrative logistics; providing quality control oversight of the SOA and PED programs; and supporting collection contractors to ensure quality collections in the field.

The person in this role must have the minimum education level of a Bachelor’s degree.  This position requires the willingness and ability to work a schedule of 7:00 am-3:30 pm Monday-Friday and occasional travel including upon short notice.  Passing a pre-employment screening, including background check, drug test, transcript verification, and confidentiality agreement, is also a requirement.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent service to the client, independent contractors and colleagues.
  • Manage the administration support of the NFL SOA and PED programs including database management; collector contractor scheduling; logistics and quality control; and receiving, reviewing, tracking and filing of all collection paperwork.
  • Collaborate with NFL staff, collector development department and quality assurance (QA) department to review collection data reports as part of the QA initiative, and to address potential protocol violations.
  • Provide NFL SOA whereabouts system and client testing management related coverage in the absence of senior director of NFL SOA program and NFL program coordinator, including evening hours when needed.
  • Attain certification to conduct occasional specimen collections for client, as well as occasional audits of NFL certified Doping Control Officers (DCOs).
