ABOUT:

With the increased awareness of RED-S, we are growing aware of other considerations to explore such as supplement use. Supplement use has been associated with usage to address fatigue and nutritional deficiencies.

At the end of this presentation, attendees will be better able to:

  1. Describe interplay of RED-S and common reasoning for supplement use.
  2. Recognize symptoms of RED-S that increase risk of supplementation and doping.
  3. Prepare athletes to make informed decision regarding appropriate use of supplements.

Target Audience: ATs, RDs, CSCS, and other sports medicine or athlete support staff
