Drug Free Sport Statement Regarding 2017 CrossFit Games Drug Testing

Since 2010, CrossFit, Inc. has partnered with Drug Free Sport to ensure the highest level of fair and safe sport, in its efforts to crown the “Fittest on Earth” at The CrossFit Games. Throughout our collaborative work, CrossFit has been consistent with sanctioning and publishing resulting for athletes that have fallen short of its rigorous testing policy. This process includes:

  • Drug Free Sport providing World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) code-compliant testing and collections
  • All participating athletes being subject to urine and/or blood testing during CrossFit-sanctioned competitions, along with extensive out-of-competition, year-round testing – any time, any place
  • Sample analysis by a WADA-compliant laboratory (one of only two in the United States)
  • Comprehensive and confidential results management and reporting

Since 1999, Drug Free Sport has partnered with elite organizations such as CrossFit, Inc., the NCAA, the NFL, the NBA, the WNBA, NASCAR, CONCACAF, MLB, the PGA TOUR, the LPGA TOUR, and more than 300 other high-class national/international organizations for their drug deterrence and wellness programs. There are organizations that have chosen not to sanction or pursue action against athletes that go beyond the guidelines, and we have chosen not to work with those groups. We understand that CrossFit is not only a sport, but a lifestyle for many that choose wellness and clean living, with an interest and passion for the competition and its athletes. We stand with CrossFit, Inc. and its pursuit of fair competition.
